Tips and Tricks

Tip #1 – Eliminate unwanted lines or page breaks in Microsoft Word documents

Sometimes unexpected blank lines or page breaks in a Microsoft Word document can make polishing a document frustrating, especially when the result is an additional blank page that throwis off your page numbering display. A useful tool included in MS Word can aid in identifying hidden unexpected page formatting characters and remove them. On Word's home menu is a shortcut called Show/Hide denoted by the pilcrow symbol: ¶

Enabling this feature results ion the document displaying various page formatting characters that are normally hidden, and you can manually remove them to solve formatting trouble. The pilcrow symbol found on its own line denotes a new paragraph and line feed, so deleting it at the bottom of a page often eliminates an unexpected page break.

Tip #2 - Need to change you 3CX status but still want to get an important phone call?

If you are going to be out of the office or even just out to lunch and change your status in your 3CX web client from "Available" to "Away" or "Lunch" all your calls will follow the settings you configured for "Away" or "Lunch", not likely to send calls to voice mail. If you still want to get a call from a specific phone number you can create an "Exception" to have a call from that number go to your cell phone or another extension in your office. You can also designate the time frame for this to happen. In your 3CX web client go to Settings, Call Forwarding, Exceptions. Take a look at this and try it out!
